Community Worked Together to Reunite Carter!

Even if you’re not a Beatles fan, you’ve got to love the refrain from their song, “With a Little Help from My Friends,” which goes:

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

You’ve got to love it because it was with the help of some of Lost Dogs of Wisconsin’s friends that Carter, a Blue Heeler, is home again.  The groups responsible for reuniting Carter with his family are:

Racine Uncovered,

Countryside Humane Society, and

Racine’s Police Department!

Of course, the women who shared a picture of Carter and let him camp out until Countryside was able to pick him up deserve our thanks, too.  Thank you, June Hird, for getting a picture to us!  And thank you, Lori Foster, for letting Carter be a temporary fixture on your porch!  We know Carter appreciated the food and blanket you gave him!

Lost Dogs of Wisconsin remains proud to work with people like June and with people just like all of you reading this!  And we are proud to work with organizations like Racine Uncovered, Countryside Humane Society, and Racine’s Police Department.

We are proud of our friends…even the ones who sing out of tune.  We’d never stand up and walk out on any of you!  And we are excited to strengthen the relationships we have with every person and organization that supports our efforts to return lost dogs to their owners.  Not a single dog, including Carter, could be returned home without all of you!

Thanks to you, personally!  Thanks to June and Lori!  Thanks to the dedicated officers at Racine’s Police Department!  Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Countryside Humane Society!  And thanks to everyone who works so hard at Racine Uncovered!

We can’t wait to reunite even more dogs with their owners…with a little help from our friends!
