Report a Lost Dog

CLICK HERE TO REPORT A LOST DOG

We are sorry that you are missing your dog!  Please read the following thoroughly before you submit your form. If at all possible submit your form from a desktop computer with a good internet connection. Have a clear photo of your dog ready. Please do NOT submit a photo of your dog with children. For safety’s sake we will not use it and it will delay the process of getting your flyers made. We do not allow the word “Reward” or “Stolen” on our flyers or our page. We have found rewards to be detrimental to the safe recovery of lost dogs. Please do not use those words or it will delay posting your flyer because we will have to manually edit the text.

If you are using a smartphone to file your report make sure you have a good cellphone signal or wifi signal.

Lost Dogs of Wisconsin is an  all-volunteer organization. We partner with Pet FBI, a free centralized database which create the free flyers and social media links that we use.  Neither Lost Dogs of Wisconsin nor Pet FBI  charge for our services. Shortly after you submit the above form, you will receive a confirmation email for your listing.  This will also include tips to help you get started while you are waiting for your dog’s listing to be posted to Facebook. You will be able to create and print off flyers and share social media posts from this email alos.  Facebook postings are not automatic and will be done as soon as our volunteers are able to post.. Please check your spam email if you have not received the automated email.

Statistics show that hand delivering flyers in the area where your dog was last seen is the Number One way that lost dogs are found. You should immediately begin to print your flyers and deliver them.

Please feel free to email us at  lostdogswi@gmail.com should you have any questions. Fans may post information under flyers in regards to your dog so please monitor the comments under your flyer carefully.  You do not want to miss any potential leads or sightings.

BEWARE – SCAMMERS and Fee-Based Services (Pawboost, Critter Cops, Cuddles United and others)  They may try to contact you offering “Free” Services shortly after you file a report with us. They are getting your contact information from our listings. They say that their initial services are free but will then ask for your credit card number to “boost” your post.   This is a scam. They are not providing the services they promise.  PLEASE be careful.  We are a FREE service, run entirely by volunteers. We have been in existence for over twelve years and have helped reunite thousands of dogs.  We will NEVER ask for your credit card number or charge you for our services.

When you do find your dog, please update your dog’s status to Reunited by clicking this link: https://petfbi.org   This information is very helpful to the other owners of lost dogs.

Don’t give up hope; many dogs are found days, months and even years later.

Thank you!
